Baptism is the first step in becoming a member of the Christian family. It is a way of meeting with God and joining the Church, and can be the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith in Jesus. Often, Baptism happens when you are a baby or young child, but anyone can be baptised at any age at St Peter’s – everyone is welcome!
Baptisms are normally conducted during our main service on the 1st Sunday of each month. This service is particularly suitable for families with children, or those who have not attended Church that often and would like to learn more about the life and teachings of Jesus.
The congregation at St Peter’s always enjoy welcoming people for Baptism, and you can be certain of a warm welcome to the Christian family when you come to Church for this special event.
If you have already been baptised and you are ready to make a further commitment to Christ as a young person or adult, you may wish to consider Confirmation. This is a service in which you can declare your faith and your intention to live in the way of Christ for all the days of your life. Our Clergy will be pleased to discuss the details of this with you and arrange for a Confirmation course to prepare you. Confirmations usually happen twice a year with other candidates from nearby Churches.
For more information on either Baptism or Confirmation please call the Parish Office on 01293 514976 or email Fr Paul at: firstname.lastname@example.org

The death of someone we love is a very difficult time, but at St Peter’s we will do our best support you in several ways.
We would be pleased to help you plan the funeral service for your loved one so they can be committed to God’s care. One of our Clergy will meet you to find out what you would like included in the funeral service, and can help with choosing hymns and readings if you feel unsure or no direct wishes were left. It’s important to us that the funeral service is a fitting tribute to the departed, and we will always try to include any personal touches that you tell us about.
The funeral service will include prayers for your loved one, and for you and your family at this sad time. We will also ensure that the service celebrates the life of the departed, and our Clergy will commit them to God’s eternal care.
The funeral can take place either in the Church or at the Crematorium if this is required.
Here at St Peter’s Church, we can offer further support after the funeral while you are grieving, or if you have recently been bereaved. Please contact one of the clergy to find out more about how we can support you through this difficult time.
For all funeral and bereavement enquiries please contact the Parish Office on Tel: 01293 514976 or the vicar direct, they can also be emailed if you would prefer (see our Contact Us page for addresses).
