St Peter’s Church aims to be at the heart of the community in West Green and has a number of regular activities, which welcome and support our neighbours and those further afield.
Booksales and Café
There is a booksale and café in the church hall on the first Saturday of every month from 9.30am to 1.00pm. This booksale has been running for many years and has built up a super reputation for its excellent range of books, both secondhand and new, starting from as little as 50p. There are also DVDs, CDs, vinyl records as well as greetings cards and gift wrap.
The café serves tea, filter coffee and delicious home-made cakes.
The café is also open from 10.00am until 12.30pm on the third Saturday of each month for refreshments and special events.
St Peter’s is home to the West Green Community Cinema, which has regular showings of both contemporary and classic films on two Wednesdays each month usually starting at 7.00pm. Details of forthcoming films are displayed on the church noticeboards. The box office is open from 10.00am to 12noon on Saturday mornings for advance sales. Tickets are priced at £5 and can also be purchased on the door (subject to availability) from 6.00pm on film nights.
